The primary training
on the farm is done using dressage movements and implementing these movements
into each the daily training workout of each horse. From there, the performance of the horse is
improved; it doesn’t matter if that horse is being used for dressage, hunter
work or maintaining a retiree’s level of fitness. Use of work in the fields is also
incorporated, so that the mind of the horse (and rider) stays fresh and so they
do not become ‘bored’ with the daily routine of schooling in the arena. With the implementation of the new outdoor
arena, we hope to be able to incorporate both the ‘freshness’ of working
outdoors as well as elevate the level of training we are able to accomplish!
